The Federal Bonding Program, a U.S. Department of Labor program established in 1966, provides fidelity bonds that insure employers against employee dishonesty for hard-to-place job seekers, including people with criminal records. The bonds cover the first six months of employment and cost nothing for the job applicant or the employer, with no deductible.
