The Arkansas Department of Corrections sets out the step-by-step release process. Eligibility is determined by the sentence, and the Post-Prison Transfer Board is the releasing authority. Institutional Release Officers complete an ARORA Pre-Release Assessment and work with the incarcerated person to build a community supervision plan identifying residence and any employment offer; no one can be released to supervision without an approved plan. Community Supervision Officers make home visits and the proposed residence must meet conditions including the owner allowing the person to live there, allowing officers access inside and approving the warrantless search waiver, no locked enclosures blocking access, and no unsecured firearms. The person is served a Notice of Screening letter, and on the day the Board votes the Institutional Release Officer hands them a copy of the Record of Release Consideration showing approval or denial.
