Inmate Phone System (Alaska DOC)

Alaska DOC's phone page explains that the department contracts with Securus Technologies and that incarcerated people may only place outgoing calls, never receive them. Family and friends must open a billing account first, choosing either AdvanceConnect, a prepaid account from which charges are deducted automatically, or DIRECT Bill, which bills collect calls through Securus Correctional Billing Services and requires a credit check. Accounts can be set up on the Securus website or by calling 1-800-844-6591. The page also posts current rates: from 1 January 2026 all calls, including local, interstate and intrastate, cost $0.085 per minute, and from 1 February 2026 every Alaska DOC inmate receives two free calls each month, credited on the first day of the month and usable to call any domestic number.
